What Improves Our Affairs?
What improves our affairs
More than our daily prayers,
Together in faith, deeds, and tears?
Our sincere daily prayers,
And God's gifts that we share,
AsSalat in Jamat with our dears?

What's success as a goal,
At the cost of one's soul?
The wealth of this world is fools gold.
Have you sold your own soul,
And distorted your role,
And allowed your ideals to grow cold?

What do you feel
If your love is not real
And you love something wrong you should hate?
Do you love what is real,
Or bow down and kneel
To the feel of an amoral state?

What caused the effect,
That's today's moral wreck,
That has covered our houses with shame?
Shall we salvage this wreck,
Or just sit and neglect
And expect to see more of the same?

What improves our affairs
More than our daily prayers,
Together in faith, deeds, and tears?
Our sincere daily prayers,
And God's gifts that we share,
AsSalat in Jamat with our dears?

What do you do
If your kids turn on you,
And take sides with the worst of God's foes?
Does the fault lie with you,
Or the straw that you drew,
Was it you that sowed grief in your woes?

What will turn them around,
Keep their feet on the ground,
And prevent them from going astray?
Pull the weeds from the ground.
What was lost; search till found.
And gather to pray everyday.

Then what should be done
Once you've prayed to The One,
In a group motivated by fear;
Fear that The One
Won't be pleased when you're done,
'Cause His words' profound meanings aren't clear?

What can be learned
If your hearts are not turned
Towards The One at all places and times?
Each page must be turned,
And the thoughts on them learned,
And then live The Quran's Sacred Rhymes.

What improves our affairs
More than our daily prayers,
Together in faith, deeds, and tears?
Our sincere daily prayers,
And God's gifts that we share,
AsSalat in Jamat with our dears?

What are the weeds
That sow dark evil's seeds
In a garden of Islamic fruit?
Satan sells his own seeds,
Fools think wants are their needs,
So it's greed that has choked your fruits' root.

What you want is their schools
And their gruesome war tools,
And their freedom to turn wrong to right.
You don't want your farm tools,
Or infallible rules
That God sent to turn darkness to light.

What you want is a slave,
A court jester and knave,
Who perform while you sit on your throne.
So you work like a slave,
Spending more than you save,
For a kingdom that you'll never own.

What you're teaching your fruit
Is that heaven is loot,
A degree, and a house, and a car.
So they spend all your loot,
Which then spoils your fruit,
They are lost 'cause they followed your star.

What improves our affairs
More than our daily prayers,
Together in faith, deeds, and tears?
Our sincere daily prayers,
And God's gifts that we share,
AsSalat in Jamat with our dears?

Now what do you think,
Should you let the ship sink?
Or use all of your skills to survive?
You should know it will sink,
And your problems wont shrink,
If you fold and choose not to strive.

What's left to be said?
We need action instead
Of more words to provoke the same thought.
We need action instead,
Prayers, and deeds, till we're dead,
Prayers together, as God said we aught.

We must form our own schools
And obey all the rules
That Our Prophet received from The One.
Here, majority rules.
And lone wolves are just fools
And God's party already has won.

We all need to rise;
Keep our eyes on the prize,
Which is nearness to God and His Friend.
We must strive for the prize
With our time, wealth, and lives
Or we'll lose both ourselves and our kin.

What improves our affairs
More than our daily prayers,
Together in faith, deeds, and tears?
Our sincere daily prayers,
And God's gifts that we share,
AsSalat in Jamat with our dears?
